In 1998, Danny Watterson entered into full time ministry, along with his wife Brandi, as a student pastor in the Houston area. After many productive years in this position, and having the honor to be a part of some of the largest youth ministries in the country, he transitioned to The Woodlands, TX in 2007, where he was able to expand his ministry experience over the next few years to include Children’s Ministry and Family ministry. In January of 2012, he was asked to step into a Campus Pastor role for a large church that had a satellite campus in the Katy area. The Watterson’s packed their belongings and moved from The Woodlands to Katy to further the gospel and support the vision of this Houston megachurch. Life was good. People were growing in their faith and lives were being transformed. Their time in Katy was both fruitful and fulfilling. As this short but life changing season in Katy drew to a close, the Watterson’s prayer was simply, “God, if you ever provide an opportunity to lead like that again, we’re in!”
After 20 years of ministry, in some of the largest and fastest growing churches in the country, an incredible vision was planted in the Watterson’s hearts. A vision for a church that was so much more than people sitting in a seat on Sunday. God was birthing a vision for church that truly shared life together, served together and worshiped together. A relationally driven church that was focused on serving the community and deepening their faith with the whole family involved.
Nearly six years to the day that the campus in Katy came to a close, God provided that opportunity that the Watterson’s had prayed for, and with a huge step of faith, the vision for the Ridge Community Church was born. What started as a small group of individuals gathered in a home in the summer of 2017 has transitioned into church services, which started on September 10th, 2017.

What We Believe
About the Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error. Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalms 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world. Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23; 14:10, 16; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8-10; James 2:19
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts. Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3; Psalms 8:3-6; 32:1-5; 51:5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14-25; 1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 15:19, 21-22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-11
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7; Matthew 1:21; 27:22-66, 28:1-6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31; Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20; 3:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12-13; Hebrews 9:24-28; Revelation 3:20
About the Christian Life
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world. Matthew 16:18-19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28; 1 Corinthians 7:17; 9:13-14; 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 5:22-32; Colossians 1:18; 3:15; 1 Timothy 4:14; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 21:2-3
